We began by reading I Like Myself!, a joyful story that celebrates self-love, confidence, and embracing what makes each of us unique. The book created a warm space for talking about how we see ourselves.
After the story, we introduced four simple affirmations that we believe can truly shape how the children view themselves each day. Each child was given a small mirror so they could look at their own reflection while repeating the affirmations. We really want them to see themselves in each statement, to connect the words not just to the air around them, but to the person looking back at them.
It was a powerful moment watching them hold their mirrors, some smiling shyly, others confidently repeating the words. Revisiting affirmations reminded us how important it is to nurture not only academic growth, but also a strong, positive sense of self.
