What Lines Live in Our Community?

Happy Friday, Willow families! This morning, we decided to jump back into our lines study! We started by skimming "A Line Can Be" and then wondered, "What do you know about lines?" Here are some thoughts from the Willows:

WN: "When you make letters, they are lines. When you walk on concrete, there are lines!"

LB: "The heart is lines!"

JB: "Soccer balls, basket balls, and footballs have lines."

AH: "My mom has lines on her jacket and the heart has lines!"

PK: "My mom has a vest with black lines on it."

CL: "Letters are lines! There are lines on BNSF trains. They are red, straight, and long."

MW: "I have small lines on my shirt!"

SB: "There are lines on these baskets."

HA: "Some lines are skinny!"

JS: "Number and letters are lines."

HL: "My shirt has very skinny lines!"

LauS: "PK's shirt has lines!"

JS: "Lines on my shirt!"

EPA: "I have lines on my shirt!"

LuS: "Tree trunks have lines!"

After our discussion, we read "Follow the Line" by Laura Ljungkvist. This inspired the idea to go on a line walk to discover what lines live in our community! We brought the iPads for the Willows to capture their discoveries. We found so many different kinds of lines in the neighborhood. There were lines on fences, bricks, stones, the sidewalk, on leaves, bark, and so much more! Our Willows noticed skinny lines, thick lines, straight lines, lines that go up, and lines that go down!
