Unfortunately, we weren’t able to visit the forest this morning, so instead we decided to have a joyful caper with our Spruce friends! Since the plan was to spend the day outdoors, we brought the adventure to our front outdoor space. We opened each classroom’s doors so the children could move freely and explore, visiting any space that caught their interest throughout the morning.

"I made my name!"
We investigated the large leaf that was shared with us today! Using magnifying glasses, the children looked closely at all the tiny details. They also created rubbings to capture the beautiful lines that flow through the leaf, noticing how each one helps make up its unique pattern.
We also continued our color explorations with a new light projection, playdough, and an array of colorful loose parts. The children experimented with mixing, layering, and combining materials, noticing how the colors shifted and transformed in different ways.
