"There's greens everywhere!"

This morning we took all of our learning outside, we even had our morning meeting out there!
We reread the book Green from last week and looked around to see if we noticed anything green in nature. The children pointed out "leaves", "grass, and "trees"! One friend said, "there's greens everywhere!" We also noticed that the "greens" were all different shades.

With that in mind we went to work using painted to create our own shades of green!
Check it out!

The children talked about noticing "light green", "dark green", and "medium green".
They were excited to see how the swoosh of the paint brush brought a new shade!
They would yell, "I need more yellow" or "I need more blue". Each shade being created with such purpose!

The first picture has a green named, "bufferfly green".
The second picture has a green called, "cloudy puff".
This green is called, "cloudy cover pizzazz".

Sometimes you have to experience the paint with your hands!
"Look, Look I'm green!"

We used picture frames to collect nature. We made a point to slow down and gently add each piece of nature that we discovered! We decided that they looked more like a mosaic than a stained glass window. We love how their little brains work!!!

We also used our acorns with ramps, explored in the mud kitchen and made real mud, carted things around in our little red wagon, and played with musical instruments! It was a great day!
