We had a very busy and exciting morning today!
After reading a new book that showed many different shades of colors, the children began to wonder if we could find different shades in nature too. With this question in mind, we set off on a walk to explore.
We happened upon this beautiful mural early on in our walk! The kids were so excited to see the amazing colors painted on this garage making gorgeous flowers, this could be inspiring!
As we looked closely, the children noticed how many colors nature creates, leaves that were not just green but many shades of green, flowers that held layers of color, and rocks that changed shade when the light hit them. Their excitement grew as they discovered that nature mixes and changes colors just like artists do!
"Look, the rocks have different colors!"
"These are different shades of green!"
"I notice something! These are two different shades of purple!"
"The leaf and the stick are different shades of brown!"
"We found pink flowers, but they're not just one pink."
We also found some beautifully painted rocks that our Spruce friends left around Webster to spread kindness! They made us feel so much joy!
And, surprise, we found a stained glass window! A neighbor told us that this window has been here a long time, the kids were excited about it!
"There's two shades of brown on the acorn!"
We also filled an ENTIRE basket with acorns! We'll have to see what the kids want to do with these next week!
We also voted on what we should name our mural!
