Happy Monday, Willow families! This morning, we read How to Spot an Artist by Danielle Krysa. This book highlighted how artists use not only paint, but other materials such as magazines, glue, paper, and found objects. After reading, we wondered: what makes an artist? Here are some thoughts from the Willows:
WN: "An artist paints."
LauS: "They can build and paint."
SB: "Artists paint toys."
EPA: "An artist is cool and can paint."
HA: "An artist paints a rainbow."
JS: "Rainbows make an artist."
HL: "They make toys."
CG: "They paint shirts."
CL: "They make rainbows and use paint."
With this inspiration on our minds, we set out to beautify a big piece of cardboard. The Willows calmly and intentionally brushed the paint on while making sure to check in with each other about their artistic vision. Sunsets and grass were painted. Dots were dotted. New colors emerged as the paint mixed and mingled. The Willows worked so sweetly together to create a masterpiece.
The finished masterpiece! We plan to add more beauty to this artwork... stay tuned!
