Exciting Happenings!

Happy Monday, Willow families! We got into some very exciting happenings this morning. We introduced some new materials on the light table. They were these! Jar lids with their sweet pictures glued to the inside.

We paired them with colorful, transparent materials and something wonderful began to happen... Several Willows discovered that they "changed colors" once they set something colorful underneath their lid. This was very funny to these Willows! They would exclaim, "I'm purple!" or "I'm red!" They also enjoyed hiding their picture lid under many other lids and decorating around their picture.

We have noticed that we have some awesome builders in the Willow room. So, we challenged our Willows to build big! Here's how our Willows decided to do that:

JS made "stairs that went up" for her little wooden people.

This group spent a long while stacking each block higher and higher. They made enough space to fit their little wooden people inside.

Magnets have been an intriguing material for several Willows. We hid little magnets in the sand and asked the children if they could find them with the magnetic wands! We also set out some Magna tiles for building.

The small world was a popular spot for these boys. HL built on top of this stump and made a smart observation! He could see the shadows of his building and the little wolf balancing on the top. He watched it carefully as the projection changed.
