We've had quite a busy day today with a lot of our learning focused on our restaurant.
We noticed children working on drawings of food this morning, specifically muffins!
Maybe muffins will make it on the menu, we will see!
We are loving this big bowl to make salad in!
Muffins being made in Straight Noodles, also!
During capers on Friday the Acorn room was working with yarn. They were making nests with their yarn but the Willow children were pretending that the yarn was noodles! We thought we would get out some yarn today and see what the kids thought about making their own noodles. We used scissors and rulers to measure and cut the noodles. The children wanted the noodles to be long since real noodles are long! Check them out!
TC took the noodles over to the restaurant in a mixing bowl and began to serve her friends!
"Do you want some noodles?"
"I do, I do!"
"We have soo many noodles!!!"
As added excitement for our day we CS brought some beautiful pine tree branches. The first thing one of our friends noticed was the lovely smell coming from the branches! We then felt them and realized how soft they were. One friend thought the branches were going to be pokey, so she was pleasantly surprised when they were soft! We decided to make some representational drawings of the branches. Everyone's interpretations of the branches were so beautiful!
We put the branches in a vase and got out paper and oil pastels.
We talked about the features of the branches, what colors we saw, the "pointy" leaves, and vase that is holding them.
This morning these two friends created a beautiful city that we just had to share!
In the video below you can hear MB tell us all about what she made with VF!
This city is quite amazing!!!
Be Happy, Be Kind
