We had such a fun day in Willow!
We were sad that the weather didn't quite cooperate with us and we had to stay at school instead of going to the forest but we made the best of it! We capered with our forest friends, which was (as one of the kids said) AWESOME! Check out our day, which includes our dried strawberries from the dehydrator!!!
"We made purses!"
"We can use them in the restaurant to hold our moneys."
"Something smells good! Are the strawberries done?"
"The strawberries look funny."
"That's because all the juice is gone!"
Capers was super fun! We showed our Acorn and Seedling friends what we have been doing in our restaurant, we added the light projector to our light atelier, played with play dough, and explored with our flour in the sensory table! We even shared our dehydrated strawberries with them!!! It was great fun!
Check out their blogs as well to see what the Willow friends did in their rooms:
"I smell strawberries."
"They smell good!"
"They taste spicy."
KA gave them a big thumbs up!
"It smells good."
"I want more!"
Here's our final product, the strawberries that didn't get eaten lol!
We talked about our strawberries and then the children got to each try some!
We asked them what they thought the strawberries were going to taste like.
The kids thought they were going to:
Be crunchy
Be hard
Be sweet
After they tasted the strawberries they said they were:
Sweet
Sour
Crunchy
Like a fruit roll up
Spicy
Yummy
Gummy Bears
We can't wait to taste the bananas, hopefully tomorrow!
