We have a Light and Shadow Atelier

On Tuesday, the Willow room was turned inside out and rearranged! We started our day by taking a tour of the room and talking about the new spaces and how we can use these spaces to create, learn, and investigate. We started by taking a tour of the new restaurant area.

And then moved over to the new building area where the blocks and magnets are located.

Our calming area has relocated and has a cozy feel in the corner of the room now where it's also closer to our meeting rug. The light table is now between the calming area and our new light and shadow atelier. We discussed that an atelier is a place for investigating. In this atelier, we will be investigating light and shadows by having the black curtains to make the dark, and lots of lights and mirrors and things to explore shadows.

There is a light projector which will project light onto the ceiling as well as the curtains.

We discussed how shadows can come from the sunlight too.

We also took some time outside to see where we can find shadows outside. 

And when we weren't investigating light and shadows, we were playing in the new spaces.
