You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. -Maya Angelou

We used all of our creative juices this morning!
The children have such big, wonderful ideas
and came up with some amazing plans for our day!

The children LOVE to paint so we brought in a piece of textured styrofoam, put tape on it, and the kids went to town painting it. We wondered what might happen when we pull off the tape... I guess we'll have to wait to find out!

We'll post a picture of the final product once it has dried!

Some of our children have been exploring a lot with our rainbow pebbles.
They have been making different animals and patterns!
IR made a butterfly and TL made a turtle.

As you know we have been exploring sound with the children.
We put out some beads and scissors to practice cutting and refining our fine motor skills but the children took it to the next level (as they do so often)! They started to hear the sounds that the beads were making in the sensory tub. One friend said, "listen, the beads make a sound when you shake them." Then another child responded, "maybe we could put them in our boxes!" We then talked about adding some of the beads to our shoeboxes to see what sounds they might make.

So from that experience we moved onto our boxes. We have so many children excited about the idea of making guitars but with the idea of the beads being added we talked about what other instruments we might make. They added some beads to one box and shook it for a bit but the children were way too excited to make guitars to let one of the boxes become a shaker! We are going to think through new ways to make shakers and in the mean time the children worked on making the rest of the boxes into guitars (and one drum).

Check out the videos below to see all of the guitar work that we did today!
