This morning the children worked on their chrysalis observations. We used a new material; oil pastels, to draw what we saw. ZG noticed that two caterpillars decided to make their chrysalises right next to each other and she wondered if they might be friends. FD wanted to make sure that she drew the whole net with her chrysalises, so she drew the green swirl that goes around the net. WM was excited to make as many chrysalises as he could. We also checked our chrysalis "come out" chart and added a day to it.

When we finished working on our observations and drawings we went into the block area and decided to make a house before going on our walk to the Sculpture Garden.
We had a couple of diversions that prompted us to change our plans on walking to the Sculpture Garden because of the road construction going on in the area and we didn't have enough time to make it there in order for the children to really enjoy their time. So, we decided to take a moment to sit, have a little snack and enjoy watching the workmen do their work. Afterwards, the children wanted to climb up and sit on the bike rack before heading over to the fountains and Oh what fun they had!!!
ZW - The water is flowing through my hands.
WK - Oh my gosh! This water is so cold!
We took a walk across the grid walkway alongside the building of Layla's restaurant back to school. The children really enjoyed that a lot and thought it was a lot of fun! We had a really good time!
Have a wonderful day!!!
