Busy, Busy

Today was a busy day in the Willow Room. We had some little things to catch up and then enjoyed some time playing outside with umbrellas! Check out today's work!

Some friends helped put our nature ornaments together so we could hang them in the room! They are a beautiful addition to our classroom!

We talk about our caterpillars daily. The children have been trying to figure out how they want to document and keep track of how many days that the caterpillars are in their chrysalises. Today we decided to make a chart. They wanted to call it Chrysalis Come Out and we wrote down how many days the caterpillars have been in their chrysalises. We will add a number for each day that they remain in their chrysalis! The poster also got beautifully decorated!

Today marks the sixth day that the caterpillars entered their chrysalises. In our research we found that these caterpillars typically stay in their chrysalis for 7-10 days. The kids are excitedly anticipating the arrival of our butterflies! Hopefully it'll just be a few more days!

We are so lucky to have umbrellas at school for us to borrow! Each child got the chance to choose an umbrella if they would like one! Then we headed outside to get some fresh air!

We were just going to play on the playscape with the umbrellas but then we wondered how the chickens were doing in the rain! So off we went to check on the chickens that live across the street!
We found them happily hanging out in their coup! They were talking a lot and we did our best to keep them talking, lol! Check out the video below, the children clucked at the chickens to try to get them to cluck back and it worked!

We also had a flashlight dance party after lunch!
We thought these two videos of the children dancing were pretty cool! They love our little flashlights that fit over our fingers!!!
