Work Together Wednesday was amazing! The Willow class took this concept this morning and ran with it! They even came up with a song and sang it most of the morning!
As you saw in yesterday's blog the children decided that they wanted to create a castle together in the block area. This was no small task! We needed blocks, loose parts, paper, markers, and tape! We used materials from all over the room to make the perfect castle!

Once we finished building and adding loose parts to our structure the children decided that they wanted to make signs and pictures to hang on their castle.
This spot is for butterflies so FD drew a butterfly to go on the wall!
We drew kings and queens to go in the castle too.
We even made crowns to wear while we played in the castle!
These friends worked really hard on figuring out how to make their crowns stand up on their heads. They started off with paper pieces but those were too floppy. They then tried bendy sticks but they had trouble attaching those, so we ended up trying large popsicle sticks and that did the trick! We had the perfect crowns to wear in our castle!

Our second plan for working together was to collect and create with nature.
In the fall the children loved to collect nature and we created these beautiful nature collages. They have been hanging in our classroom since the fall. Unfortunately some of the different pieces of nature that we had glued on began to fall off, mostly because they dried up and flaked off. We thought it might be a good idea to add some spring to these collages! As soon as we got outside we went to work. They collected flowers, leaves, clover, and sticks to add.
Our collages are looking beautiful! We'll continue this work throughout the week as well! We had a great Work Together Wednesday and can't wait for tomorrows special day:
