We were excited to get a tour of a real restaurant this morning!
We got to take an insiders look at Stephanina's Pizza in Chesterfield. The owner, Tricia, took some time this morning to show us around her restaurant via Zoom! If you zoom in and happen to think that she looks a little like Ms. Beth you would be right because she's my sister! She showed us around the back of the restaurant, how the dough is made, what the giant pizza ovens looked like, where pizza gets put together, and all of the pizza boxes! She also showed us how she takes orders, how receipts are made, and how the pizza makers know what pizza to make next! It was a great learning experience for us and the kids loved it! She gave us some menus to look at as well and we used them to help guide us while making our own menus! Check it out!

ZW looked at the Stephanina's menu and noticed that there were numbers. We talked about how each menu item costs money. She then decided to add numbers to her menu! Check out those dollar signs!
We continued making food for the restaurant as well. These friends added some more fruit to their menu and tomato soup!
Of course, we also had to check on our caterpillars today! As you saw yesterday the caterpillars have grown quite a bit! The kids were so excited to check on them again today. We are really starting to wonder when they will become butterflies!
We love to draw what we see and predict what the caterpillars might look like once they become butterflies! Some beautiful drawings were made today!
This is our caterpillar to butterfly book. As the children make observations each day, we collect them and hang them on the wall. Our wall has filled up, so now we are placing their observation notes and pictures in this amazing book for the children to look at! They can look at the pictures that they have drawn and soon we will be adding pictures of the children while working with the caterpillars. This has been a great learning experience and we can't wait to have butterflies join our classroom!
The momma robin wasn't sitting on her babies this morning, so we took the opportunity to get a little glimpse of these adorable birdies! The children took turns standing on a stump to see, we made sure to stay a safe distance away and we were very quiet so we didn't disturb them!
