Three Beautiful Days

Three beautiful days and three beautiful walks!

We used our senses to enjoy the sights, sounds, and feel of the warmer weather all around Webster Groves! Ms. Stephanie and I have been talking with other teachers about the state of the forest and found out that it is VERY muddy, one teacher even said swampy! So we decided that we would take a break from the forest this week and head back out on a nice walk. Todays trek took us to Larson Park! The children were so excited to get outside and enjoy our day!

As we walked in front of the school we quickly heard a loud sound! What could it be??? If you guessed a train you would be right! We saw the train through the trees while walking down Gray...

The train was still going when we got to Lockwood and we were super excited to see that it was still going as we got to our perfect train watching spot at Lockwood and Jefferson! Once the train went past we continued on our neighborhood trek!

We noticed the sounds of birds above us and took a moment to try to find them in the trees! Eventually we saw one fly above us, which caused quite a bit of elation!

We found another X! What could all of these X's mean? One friend is certain that we are going to find treasure somewhere in Webster Groves!

Once we made it to the park we were greeted by lots of birds chirping! The kids ran straight to the pavilion pointing and yelling, "look there's a bird!" and "I see birds nests!". We wondered if there might be eggs in those nests!

Then it was time for us to explore and engage our gross motor skills on the playground! Check it out!

We sure love to slide!

At first JD was a little afraid to climb up this round ladder. He climbed up part way, then back down. He looked up towards the top and I heard him quietly say to himself, "I can do it." He then began his climb again, stopped halfway, and then pushed himself to keep climbing! When he got to the top he said, "I did it, I was brave!" There was a lot of bravery on the playground today as children climbed higher and slid down big slides and traversed uneven climbing apparatuses!!!

These friends were playing Hide and Go Seek! They thought they had found the best hiding spot but soon they were found!

"Run!"

Ms. Stephanie and I heard our names called out a lot while at the park! The children were so excited to share what they were doing with us and wanted us to take pictures of everything! It was hard to leave, don't worry we'll visit again!

And just in case you were wondering we saw more X's on the sidewalk on our way back to school too! We're determined to figure out what they mean!
