Welcome back everyone and Happy New Year! Today was our first day of the new year to go back to one of our most favorite spots...the Forest! It seems like it's been a long time and of course, the children were excited as ever to get back there. Once we got to our destination the children dashed into the Forest and immediately, they found that someone had built a pretty cool fort. They were eagerly excited to begin exploring their new finding and after a while, they found an opportunity to use the fort in another creative way by turning it into a stick store where friends could come buy sticks and take them away. Another friend used the log alongside the fort and turned it into a car while some friends enjoyed climbing the big logs. All in all, they had a most wonderful morning in the Forest. Take a look at all the fun-filled and enjoyable moments they had!
WM and JG found a fort.
WM said: "I'm trying to move this log but it's too heavy."
"Hey Ms. S, remember when that big tree was red up there and it's not now because it's cold outside."
These friends enjoyed playing in the fort they'd found and then decided to turn it into a stick store.
Climbing is always one of their favorite things to do no matter the tree.
"This is our stick store. Do you want to buy some sticks?
These friends go to the stick store and wait patiently to buy some sticks from JD.
WK is working on the engine of the car next to the fort. He uses a small stick to dig deeper into the hole of the tree before finding a larger stick to complete his work.
"I'm just standing here for a minute."
These three are calling for their friend JG to come get in the car. "It's time to go home" they all said.
WK - We're going through the laser path.
FD - We made our own stick store. ZW, let's get some more sticks and add them to the pile.
ZW - Would you like to buy some sticks Ms. S?
"Look Ms. S, I have $2.00 to buy a stick from their store."
"Look at me, I'm walking the plank!"
ZG - We're shaking the rest of the leaves.
"Look at these leaves on here. They are still green."
JD came running back down into the forest and as he got closer to me he said: "Look how fast I can run! Take a picture of me running!"
And, this is the way we ended our morning at the Forest! Have a great day everyone!
