Follow Me!

As soon as we got into the forest the kids started yelling, "follow me!" I ran after them to see what all the excitement was about!

The children stopped at two big trees with branches leaned up against them. 

JD said, "this is a special cave. We can climb and build in here!"

JG said, "there's big branches on the outside!"

AC said, "don't pull on all of the branches, there's owls sleeping in there!"

The children climbed all over the "cave" that they found. They moved branches to the perfect spots and hid down in the base of the branch cave!

WM said, "we have to make a fire, I got a big log!"

JG said, "ya, we need a fire to keep us warm."

WM replied, "we have to make a fire to roast marshmallows!"

It was so much fun to watch the children climb and hang from the branches of this amazing cave that they found! They took branches off and moved them around to make it work better for their play. They climbed as high as they could (because we looove to climb) and found ways to hang upside down on different branches. They worked together, problem solved, balanced on giant limbs, and showed fantastic gross motor abilities! We learn so much from doing what makes us happy...PLAYING!

"Ms. Beth this is our bench, it's under the trees and we are going to make a fire here so we can roast marshmallows."

I think roasting marshmallows might be in our future!

These girls spent most of their time in the forest pretending to be a cat family. They found different places to play, climb, and sleep as they used their imaginations and created their own perfect kitty cat world in the forest!
