It amazes me how much the children enjoy coming to the Forest. Upon arriving at the forest the children wasted no time at all running down the first path they came to. I had to move fast in order to catch all the excitement. It began when this friend excitedly came running down the path to show me what he had found. "Look what I found! It's a red berry!" he said. His friends WM and JD were close by and WM asked "where did you find it? Can you show me?" Yeah! Come on, I'll show you!" JD replied and he led them to the spot where he'd found it. A few moments later as they traveled the paths JD found a branch with leaves lying on the ground with several berries on it.
I continued going through the forest capturing all the fun and exciting things they were doing. It's not surprising to me to find them engaging in really cool games. Their imaginations are endless and full of wonderful creative ideas. Check it out below:
These two girls stopped me along a path and said "You know what? We're taller than you. Well, we're just pretending you know."
They pretended to be floating on a floaty raft in the sea. They grabbed and held onto branches as they raft rocked back and forth.
Finding a quiet place to sit and relax before exploring again.

JD is helping his friend ZG. She said "I got mud berries on me, will you help me get them off?"
They enjoyed playing wolf games and being wolves.
While we were at the forest we had an earthquake drill. We moved to a wide open safe space where we practiced how we should protect ourselves by covering our heads.
Of course, anytime we're in the forest climbing is always one of their favorite things to do.
These two enjoy running together and playing follow the leader. They climb up a big log and as they made it towards the end, WM said "take a picture of us Ms. Stephanie." Afterwards, they begin climbing up and then back down. They enjoyed doing this for quite a while. WM was so excited to jump once he got back down to the end of log.
Although it was a chilly and at times a couple of spotty raindrops, everyone had a really good day at the forest, so much so that some did not want to leave. It's always a fun, magical place to be. Until next time...
