Nature and it's wonders

On our nature walk last week the children noticed that we were close to Larson Park and wondered if we could go there on another day and of course I said yes! The kids were so excited to make the trek back to Larson Park today! Before we left we talked about what kinds of nature we might want to collect or that we might find. They thought that we would find acorns, leaves, sticks, rocks, and pine cones. Each child got a bag of their own so they could collect anything that they found interesting! Well, instead of finding wonderful things to collect we found an awesome creek to play in! So we didn't collect very much nature but we did some fantastic exploring in nature! This change of plans was absolutely perfect and the kids loved it!!!
The excited run down the path to the creek!

Immediately the kids started throwing rocks in the creek. We wondered what size rocks would make the biggest splash?!

We also found fossils! Ms. Katie taught us about fossils and how they are made, it was very interesting and it encouraged the children to try to find more fossils!

"I found a fossil!"

"Look at my cool rock, it's orange!"
"I found two rocks, they're gonna make a big splash!"

"Let's all throw one together! One, Two, Three, Go!"

We were pretty excited to see Bell on our way back to school! We haven't seen her in awhile and she seemed pretty happy to see us too!
Today was a great day, we can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!!!
