Ms. Katie's Chickens
This Friday we are going to do a check in with Ms. Katie and her chickens.
Our superheros are still going strong! Henrik made a cool superhero with a balloon head and Eliza made superhero cupcakes!!!

In this video Ms. Katie checks the chickens nests for fresh eggs, you get to see what color egg Agnes lays, and see where Ms. Katie stores her eggs after she collects them!

Chickens take baths to keep clean, just like you. But instead of getting into a tub of water, chickens take a bath by digging a shallow trench in fine, dry soil or sand. They roll, wiggle, and throw the dirt to get it all over their feathers. The dirt helps them to absorb excess oil on their skin. The dirt also helps to remove any mites or lice that may be on the chicken. When they are all done, they stand up, fluff out all their feathers, and shake all the dirt off. Then they feel nice and clean.
