We've been talking quite a bit about letters with the children. We created the alphabet storage area in our art space, we've been creating stories with our paper and snippets, and we've been hunting for letters in magazines and newspapers! Today I asked the children if they could figure out how to transform their bodies into the letters of the alphabet and they were so excited to figure it out! It took a lot of communication and creativity but the kids did amazing! We talked about the different shapes that we see in letters and how we were going to keep track of the letters that we made. We got out our letter cards so they could help guide us, the kids decided to write down the letters as we made them, and decided to each take a turn and pick out a letter to work on. The person that picked out the letter got to help their friends move their bodies into the correct position to make each letter!!! See if you can figure out what letters we've made so far (some letters were made more than once)...
The kids want to either make these pictures into a book or a poster of some sort so we will make sure to make this learning visible! We'll keep you updated!
