Our morning was filled with excitement and energy!
We are so happy to welcome a new friend to our class! She has fit right in with our Willow friends and we are excited to learn with her for the rest of the year!!!
We introduced our new friend to the forest this morning and the kids couldn't contain their excitement!
We were excited to check out our favorite forest spots!
We love to climb trees!
We found lots of great sticks!
An interesting tree was discovered! We wondered how the stick had wrapped around the tree?!
This friend found the tree to very interesting. She touched the wrapped stick gently and followed it around. She looked up at the top then back down to the bottom with a quizzical look on her face. She then noticed that the smaller stick also grew out of the ground! She said, "look it's all the way down here!" She held onto the stick and followed it back up the tree and then laughed at how it wrapped around the tree. Another friend said, "maybe it's a snake!" EB said, "no, it's a baby tree."
Lots of forest smiles!
As I walked through the forest I heard, "Ms. Beth, Ms. Beth look I'm upside down!"
"We have to make a hole so we can put the stick in and then it will make our house!"
"I can use this stick to pull down the tree limb! It hooks on!"
"We found a worm!"
Towards the end of the morning one of our friends realized that she could swing on a limb that was hanging down in the forest. She pulled the limb to the large log, held on with both hands and jumped! She had the biggest smile on her face as she ran back to try again. After she jumped a few times some other children noticed and joined in her fun. She gave them each a tutorial on how to do it. She told them:
"Hold you hands up high and hold it with two hands. Jump off the log and pull your legs up!"
