Last week we introduced the concept of light and shadow. We delved into it a bit more yesterday and today. The children are enjoying listening to calm music and dancing in front of the light projector to see their shadows. They love to see how their shadows move as they move. Some children are running to the other side of the curtain so they can watch their friends shadows! Today we had friends ask for music that was a little bit faster so they could see the difference in their dancing. One child said, "look her arms are moving faster, the music is faster. It's really pretty!"
We will continue to study the language of light and shadow and we will share with the other classrooms in our hallway tomorrow during capers!
Today we added another element of light to our shadow dancing. The kids used little finger flashlights to add to their shadow experience!
