As you saw in the blog last week we have started capering on Fridays with our end of the hallway. Each classroom has chosen to study a different "language" of learning with the children. Here is a list of what each classroom is studying and their blog address so you can see the learning in those spaces! Willow's blog will only be showing what happened in our room so if you would like to see what your child did in the other spaces please check out their blogs!
Willow is studying Light and Shadow.

We had two light and shadow provocations set up for capers this morning. We asked the question "How are shadows made?"
The first provocation was a white screen projected on our carpet area with "happy" music (this is what one of our friends called it once she heard it playing!). The children were able to see their shadows while dancing as well as their reflections in our mirrors. One of our friends even noticed that the light from the projector was reflecting onto the wall opposite of where they were dancing!
Our second provocation included a light projector, our big sheet, and colorful cups!
The children enjoyed creating beautiful designs. We noticed them looking at the sheet and moving the cups around to change their designs. Some designs were placed on the projector quickly, while other children slowly and purposefully figured out where they wanted each cup to be placed. It was really interesting to watch the children's concentration and deliberate placement of materials.
