After our morning meeting today one of the kids said, "we've got a lot to do!" and he was right! We are going to start using a new sign in routine tomorrow so we needed help sorting through our alphabet cubes this morning! The kids did a great job sorting through a large basket of letters and put each letter into it's own space. Some friends even wanted to try out the new sign in method so we got out the cards that they are going to match the letters too!
We enjoyed looking at books together today. We are noticing that the children are retelling their favorite stories to each other. They even seem to be imitating Ms. Stephanie and I! It's really amazing to see the kids so interested in books and stories!
We decided to cut beautiful pictures out of magazines today as well. We'll see what we will do with those pictures later!
Play dough is always a hit!
And so are legos. The kids have been asking to build with them a lot lately!
Yesterday one of our friends described a game that she plays at home with her family. You have to guess what is in the box just by feeling it. We decided to try out that game today at school as well. We made the game so that the kids would be naming what shape they felt and the kids really enjoyed that. They were really good at figuring out the shapes as well!
We went back to work on our maps today as well. The kids are getting really good at figuring out how to spell their street names in order to find where their house is in Webster groves! We even got out the iPad and looked at google maps to help us! Very innovative!
