Willows Working Hard!

One of our groups today went to the kitchen atelier to discuss our rice crispy treats from yesterday. I asked the children what they thought of the treats and they responded:
"They were too mushy"
"They need to be more crunchy"
"We need them to look like a square and we couldn't cut those into a square"

We started to talk about a new recipe. Yesterday two children came to the realization that we needed rice crispy cereal. Another friend said that we need marshmallows to make them sticky! Once they started to name to correct ingredients we looked up the real recipe. We were really excited to see that we only were missing one ingredient from the real recipe! We will be making a new batch tomorrow.

Here we are writing the new recipe

Our second group was working with ramps  in the classroom. We tested how far each of the different kinds of balls travelled. We used tape to mark where each ball stopped. We used these trials to decide which ball was the best ball to use when we needed it to go further! The kids discovered that the wooden ball went the furthest.

In the gym our third group wanted to race each other. They used the timer on the iPad to see how long it took them to get to the end of the gym and back. Then we wrote down our numbers to see who was the fastest!
