Our ramps group conducted a test to see which type of ramp would make a ball go the farthest: a short ramp, a medium ramp, or a tall ramp.
First, we built a ramp that was 2 blocks high. We rolled wooden balls down the ramp and marked where the balls stopped.
We marked where the balls stopped with masking tape.
Next, we built a ramp that was 4 blocks high, rolled our balls down the ramp, and marked how far the balls traveled this time. The balls went further than the first group.
The balls traveled further from the taller ramp.
Finally, we built a ramp that was 6 blocks high. The balls traveled very far.
What did we find out from our tests?
"The ball goes further when the ramp is higher!"
We also had some fun splashing in the rain.
