We added pieces of cove moulding to our ramp building area. The children were excited to experiment with the different ways in which the moulding could be used to make ramps and tracks. We used marbles and plastic golf balls on our ramps and noticed how the balls and marbles moved along the paths we built. The children tried out different ways to create their ramps. They worked on problem-solving as they figured out ways to move their balls across multiple pieces of track.
"We're making a long ramp."
"It's a roller coaster."
We added some special hangers to our light area. The children investigated how to hang things from the rings to make interesting creations. We noticed the shadows our creations made on the wall.
"What about adding some magnetic building pieces?"
We have a new 5 year-old in our class. Laylani celebrated her birthday last week. Today, we celebrated her at school. She made her special birthday necklace with the help of a friend.
