We're in motion!

As we have watched the children work this year we have noticed a common idea showing up. The kids love motion and movement! We have moved from trains to rockets to ramps.
The children gathered materials from our room and from the collaboratory. They want to use cars and see how fast they can move down the ramps! We had a lot of fun today creating all different kinds of ramps out of different materials. We will keep studying to see what materials make the best, fastest ramps.

We also continued our work on the rocket ship. Last week we looked at pictures of a real rocket and the kids noticed a lot of buttons and levers. We talked about how we could make our own buttons. They wanted real buttons, markers, glue and paper. Today we found real buttons and started glueing them on. They wanted buttons on the inside and the outside because "the people blasting off have to be able to push the buttons to make us go!"
