Terrific Tuesday

We didn't let last night's rain and today's muddy playscape keep us inside.  We went outside and had fun making chalk drawings on the patio area outside our classroom.  We also practiced our science skills by making observations outside and sketching what we saw.

Scientists hard ad work on their sketches.

Rocks are great things to observe!

Sharing our chalk creations with friends.

Look at our beautiful patio!

Inside the classroom, we our work with potions carried on.  We used lemongrass and peppermint oil to create a potion for calmness and focus.  We read the book "Meet Einstein" and learned about some tools that Albert Einstein and other scientists used including notebooks, pencils, rulers, beakers, test tubes, magnifying glasses and goggles.  We used many of those tools in our room today!

Our potion smells like mint and lemon!

Creating potions in a science notebook.

Using rulers to measure and create lines.

Using test tubes to create and mix our potion.

This scientist is doing some serious thinking in his safety goggles!
