Our friend, Kaya, brought in a praying mantis this morning. We spent some time observing it. Then, we let it go outside in the garden and observed it in its new home.
We got some new clay in our classroom. Today, we explored it and practiced making things with it. We hope to use it to help us make models of tunnels for our train.
A group of friends were discussing potions. They decided they wanted to make a cloud dough potion that would bubble or explode! The children created a recipe: flour, hair conditioner, alka seltzer tablets, and liquid watercolor. We mixed those ingredients together in a big jar.
We shook the jar to mix the ingredients and observed. We did not get a reaction. So we decided to add water. Adding the water caused the mixture to bubble.
