This week the children we noticed several children taking an interest in the book "Chameleon's Colors" by Chisato Tashiro. In the book, Chameleon made colors for the other animals in the jungle using things from nature. Children enjoyed discussing their favorite colors and designs when looking at the book. They also asked questions such as:
How did the chameleon make all the colors?
How did they make the polk-a-dots?
How did he make purple?
We went outside to gather things from nature. Tomorrow, we will use them to make colors for painting like Chameleon did!
We found green grass and yellow dandelions!
We found light purple flowers!
We needed some leaves to make green!
Making sure we have enough to make different colors.
We can't wait to go to the kitchen tomorrow to make colors with the items we collected!
