The children have been asking about the kiln and how the clay gets "cooked". We took small groups to the kiln throughout the morning to check it out. They asked some great questions, noticed a lot and remembered a lot of information because they shared out with each other at our meeting before lunch!
"The clay is gray when it goes in and it is white when it comes out. And it gets hard, like it won't break anymore "
"When it is hot, it's hotter than hot lava, hot chocolate and your fireplace!"
"When it is not on, it is cold and you can touch it."
