Color Experiment!

A few small groups took turns and did a really cool color experiment in the kitchen atelier today. 

They added whole milk to their plates. 

Then they squirted some food coloring on top of the milk .

In a shared bowl, someone squirted Dawn dish soap. 

Each friend got a Q Tip. They dipped the Q Tip in the soap and then put it in the milk/color. And then watched what happened! The colors swirled all around and made the milk something beautiful! The children made all sorts of colors mixtures and had great conversations about color. 

With all the rainbow talk lately, we have been noticing the children talking more about color. More science experiments and "color encounters" to come!
